The posts beneath the ends of my cars,

are too large to mount the Kadee couplers properly,

Might there be a certain drill bit size I can get, to make it bigger ?

Or an alternative mounting method you guys use ?

Hi Eric

Kadee make a number of different couplers for the H.L.W. cars.

1. - Original Style G Coupler.              No.831

2. - AAR Type-E G Coupler.                 No.909

3. - Kadee Remote G Coupler.             No.11115  or  No.11220

4. - Original Style Gauge-1 Coupler.    No.1831

5. - AAR Type-E Gauge-1 Coupler.       No.1909

I'm guessing you want to fit Kadee 'Original Style G Couplers ?  ???

I've used those ! ... No.831 ... Big, klunky, work well, luv 'em !

If you've got a number of cars to do,

getting the 'Kadee' No.831 designed for the job,

is sure gonna save some cuttin' & cussin' !  :f:

Eddie

Yes, I was referring to the original-style G scale 831 couplers.

I just tried an 831 gearbox on a long HLW 2-truck flatcar, and that post is the correct size.

But I'm unable to mount it on a small HLW 4-wheel flatcar because those posts are wider.
