It worked out I built the mountain first,

weather was nice enough after I roughed in the contours,

that I could work outside to plaster it.

:glad:

Working on a set of figures (1/48th) of a miner and two pack horses to add.

My figure painting leaves a bit to be desired, so they will not be front and center.

Maybe with practice my Chinese gold panner's will fair better.

L:

Need to lay out shed now, making sure it will clear Rotary and 2-8-0's.

Hi    Ken

Pleased to hear that you didn't have icebergs in your plaster !  ;)
I guess 'Titanic' could be a good name, for a 'Kaslo & Slocan Rly.' 2-8-0 !  :old dude:

I think some kind of magnifier helps, with figure painting.  L:

The miner & pack horses are sure to look great in the scene ...  :thumb:

... I can't wait to see how small they look in the mountains.

Hi    Ken

I'm honoured !

Thanks for placing me carefully ...  :old dude:

... in the notorious 'K.& S. Rly.' ROCK SLIDE area !

Are me & my pack horses negotiating the rocks ...  ???

... just above the left side approach to the bridge ?

It looks like there might be a small 'plateau' thereabouts ...

... you may have 'FRocked'(TM) that over since the earlier pic. though ?  L:

Another photo, taken in El Diablo Canyon.

The setting worked out better for you and the horses.  :bg:

Need to get back to the Norquinco Bridge and install trackwork on the bridge deck,

using the "KISS" concept to lay the track.

Getting too :old dude: to hand lay track, with current vision problems.  :bang:

Still another Mountain to build, then tackle the rock shed.

" Planning on at least to complete an operating loop by Sept,  :2t:

then I will work on a second yard, hopefully with things permitting,

will be ready for a layout tour next year.  L:

Bridge deck 95% done using the KISS concept,

just need to add NBW and weather. "

Hi Ken

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway ! ...  :P

... I'd love to be 1st in the line for the Grand Opening Layout Tour !

I'm dusting off my show-shoes (& Gum Stumps) as I speak ...

... Damn passport has expired though.  :f:

I hope the last 5% of the "KISS"ing  [whack]  & "NBW"ing is going OK.  :thumb:

The Kiss  [whack]  bridge deck worked out better then I expected,

all 36 inchs of the deck, NBW took a bit of time,

but managed to get them done with a few breaks.  [toast]

Plan to weather tomorrow to blend plastic and wood,

then add a bit of rust to rail and NBW's.

Photo to follow.

Working on a second passing track  :bang:  again with a few :java: :java: :java:

not quite lining up a smooth as I would like yet,

tomorrow is another day to give it another try.

Hi    Ken

I like the sound of a 'round the room circuit'.  :bg:

I kinda have always thought I may have to try it one day myself.  L:

I now have an empty (de-junkqued) garage ...  :dt:

... guaranteed to be totally teeth chatteringlly freezing cold in the winter ...  :w:

... & hotter than HELL in the summer !  :boogie:

Wasp-nests, HUGE tarantulas   & nosy hedgehogs looking for a Motel ...

... are a few other hazards.  ;)

Can't say I've ever seen any rock slides in there though !  :thumb:

How big is your room Ken ?  ???

Layout? room is roughly 13 ft by 19 ft

Presently installing a drop down section,
at "Gosh Awful Gulch" :glad: for the third corner.

My layout is high enough I don't really need it,

but better to be safe then sorry in the long run.  L:

Short of building into the other half of my basement,

I do not have enough room for my collection of motive power and rolling stock,

that seems to keep increasing.  :us:
