The Argentine Garratt's were so cool I thought it was time to unveil the new project. On18 as usual, mechanisms are Tsugawa TU-7T's from Hobby Search in Tokyo.
The wheelbase of the little drive is 9mm, same as the gauge. Length overall will be 4" or 16 scale feet. The maximum voltage appears to be 4.8vdc so a battery powered power supply is next (Too small for R/C Woodie!)
The loco drawing is currently AutoCad, now have a part time retirement job doing drafting work for a local company that uses Solidworks so the little guy is being modeled in full 3d.

WOW, a baby Garratt. I can't wait to see this one! I need one for the Gila Tram now. I am familiar with those tiny mechanisms, it's amazing what our Japanese friends are doing these days. The "skirts" over the wheels makes this baby an "industrial" Garratt...according to the book Garratt Locomotives of the World which I "borrowed" from Muj.
