Moving along now, some progress to report:

Here's a side view of the 2-4-4-2 with new cab, bell, whistle, Mogollon style headlight (still thinking about that one), and much modified tender.

This view shows how little she actually is.
The cab is indeed a skull cracker but is in line with the other locos, the red wooden window frames will be worked on a bit more.
Still more to do...pilot beam & steps, wooden running boards, junk on the running boards, weathering, crewmen, etc., etc.

The tender was the most radical modification.
A new wooden frame, tank lost the top ridge, oil tank shortened.
The tender trucks are stock.
Stuff will be loaded upon the tender deck as well as number/reporting marks.

As can be seen, the loco and tender now have l & p couplers so #7 is considered "in service" even though she ain't finished.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, its' how you rig the game.
