The printing industry ( Lithographic) looks for a minimum of 6 megs. prefer 8 megs plus. Ink jet production is not so demanding. As for backdrops remember you are viewing it from some distance which will help mask it.

Guys, thanks for the input on the camera setting, Bob what can I expect to pay for something like this? And is there any other tips I should know before I let them print it? Finish type and any other questions they might ask when I take it to them? Thanks Pat

I don't really know. I have access to one. I would tell them very specifically what you’re doing and what you want the final product to be. They should be able to help you. I just used regular paper, not photo paper or glossy material.

OK fellow mini/micro layout builders, here's something from long ago which should inspire you to build a layout. This ain't for armchair modelers, Bob (Trebor) did a fantastic job and in a short time. I have left all the posts intact since they are part of the work shown. Check this out, it deserves to be seen again.

Woodie

Bob's Pine Creek was a brilliant little layout and has influenced each of the mini/micro layouts I have built since the thread appeared in this Forum.

Thanks, Bob!

I really like micro layouts, a good one like this shows how you can realistically fit a lot into a small space. What works on a micro layout (or module) can also work for a tight patch of "real estate" on a large layout.
