It's that time again.
The foam board is laid for the base.
I've pretty much had my track plan in my head what I want to do.
Using 2 inch foam, is it best for hills and such, to lay it flat, or stand on edge and build it up.
Laying down I'll still need to build it up.
I decided to go with foam because I found several sheets of it that had blown off of a truck.
Free is good!
Suggestions please!

Hi Michael.
I lay it flat and use an old steak knife and rasp to shape it.
Hot cutting foam can be really hazardous inside.
Using the knife and rasp is a mess and difficult to clean up (static electricity),
but I find that I have more control over the shape and use a shop vac.
Dumping it is difficult, but I put the hole thing in a garbage bag and upend it.
I use latex liquid nails and skewers to hold it together for a couple of days until dry.

Two inch foam is good laid flat ...
Color doesn't matter, unless it's the poor bead board [white] style.

Turning cold outside, its time again to get things going.
Now I have to clean off all the stuff I've sat on it!
I picked up a few back years of the Gazette and checked them out.
Since I'm retired now, I have all day to do things.
First, clean up the junk!!
