My handrails are for a turntable I'm building.  I tried making them from some 0.045" solid core wire I had but it ended up looking too beat up.  I figured 2" pipe would hold its shape better than that so I scrapped it and went with 3/64" (0.045") brass rod.  The results were much better but now I see I really need a resistance soldering station.  For the pipe joints I used three coats of paint.  This is a "before" picture.  I'll post an "after" shot when I get final paint on.

OK.  Got the railings painted.  If you stand back 3' you probably couldn't tell but I'm pleased with the results I got using three layers of brushed enamel paint to build up my "pipe joints".

Thanks John.  My first attempt with the copper wire was pretty sad.  The pictures you posted were what made me go back and try again.  Thanks again for your suggestions.
