" ... and with cribbing "

Canadian    Kens cribbing idea  :java: :bg:   & my neighbour, 'Rocket Man'  :shades:  with his space-junk strip-wood deliveries ...

... all collected up now (I think ?) & carefully graded into premium finescale-lumber sizes !  :mex:

(that's about 9x9 to you & me, or as 'fine' as the Chinese firework makers saw-fence goes !)  (_!_)

Could just work for something ?  L:

Precisely WHAT ? to do with the Lionel derrick parts, from  'Kens Cranes', is still a mystery !  ???

I have been playing around with them though ... Quite A LOT in fact ... Mmm ...

I discovered that the largest width of girder-section, is exactly 4 'LEGO' dots wide.  :P

The curious green girder part, was also included in the mystery package from 'Kens Cranes'.  :us:

Def. modded ! ... An underframe of some unknown variety perhaps ? ... RIVETED !

I've been trying to see it as an underframe, but it's possibly being looked at as 4 crane uprights.  L:

The frame started life as a MARX tank car,  :bg:

the tank was to be used for yet another tank car,

now in my round 2 it drawer, while I get some track laid.

Planning on at least to complete an operating loop by Sept,  :2t:

then I will work on a second yard, hopefully with things permitting,

will be ready for a layout tour next year.  L:

Bridge deck 95% done using the KISS concept,

just need to add NBW and weather.

Very similar prototype tank cars

were built by Brugoise et Nicaise (Belgium)

for the Nitrate Railway in Chile in the mid 1920's.

Hi    Ken

Musta kept you very busy AND very warm, through most of that winter season ...  :P

... separating the cunning 'MARX' moulding, into both tank & underframe !  :boogie:

I found a few other photos of 'Crane No.13' ...  :w:

... Which seems to be holding my long term interest at the present time.  L:

The    'Kens Cranes', carefully crafted, modded 'Marx' moulding ...

Hi crane fanciers !  :old dude:

Another rusty snap of cute lil 'Crane No.13' showed up in Google Images ...  :mex:

... amazing what you can find, with a bit of digital-digging.

I presume that 'Crane No.13' & the 2 (?) 'mystery cars' are actually on rails !  L:

Even though it looks like they haven't moved for a weedy while.

The 'mystery cars' are clearly the cranes 'match-truck' ...  ???

... it is possible a wide-angle lens might have made the crane look a tad smaller.

The 'sticky up bit' is oDdS on fav. for being a nice shop-made jib-support ...

... the 'cranky geary bit' is oDdS on fav. for being  MYSTERY OF THE YEAR !  :P

Anyone got any observations about the 'match-truck' ?  L:

They could be a pair of re-purposed regular trucks ?

Si.

A little something to cut down on web surfing for crane photo's,
should keep you busy for a while though.

Interesting photo of #13
Shame no side view though.
