No new pictures for you today but there are been progress, of a sort. The layout is disassembled and sitting ready for all the MDF to be painted, it will seal it against any moisture, so all the wood surfaces are going to be painted.
I have also bought some Sundeala board to use as a track base, the track system I using involves spiking the track down.
Sundeala is a 9mm thick board made from recycled paper, I am not sure if it is available in the USA, normally it is used for notice boards, but it will in this case for the track bed.
I will glue to the bench work and it will cover the entire surface as these kinds of industrial narrow gauge railways, in real life use no ballest and the track is often sunk into the ground, it is after all a portable track system.
I have made some test components for my turn outs.
These are just a test V and wing rail assembly, I have not done a lot of track building so it is best I do some practice turnouts first!

So the first board now has 2 strips of LED's installed, and I think they work quite well, also the boards have been painted all over with coat of MDF Primer, it is just primer not the finished article.
On the next board I will solder on the wires before the led strips are stuck down, there is not much room to work and I had to peel them off in order tot solder the connectors on, also need a blob of glue from the glue gun as the weight of the wires was pulling the LED strip off the board.
I think I blob glue on all the connections to prevent any shorts.
