Hi,
I'm creating the house of the mad scientist and inventor on the island of Toeffelholm, that will find place on my Gn15 woodland module.
It ought to be a little eccentric like it's occupier itself. When I found the left dodecagonal copper plate roof of a G-scale plastic kit, I decided that the scientist will live in dodecagonal tower.
The idea is an old wooden watchtower, renovated and completed with an annex with a roof terrace on it. It's rather small, more in the size of a hermits hut, but the scientist has room for his laboratory in the first floor of the tower.
I'm quite at the beginning but may be you're interested in some first pics.
I built a paper-model first to check size and proportions.

I started with a base from styrofoam. The tower gets a stone plate floor, the annex a wooden floor.

The house will get some furnishing, to avoid an empty room when you look through the window. Also I can check if the inner size is halfway resonable.

The walls are made from styrofoam as well. I laminate them with heavy 300gr paper -both sides. Than I draw the imagined structure, draw the doors and windows, cut them out with a sharp scalpel and fit doors and windows in.

Next will be the upper floor of the tower.

Juregen,
Nice building. I like the laser cut window and door. Do you have a laser at home?
