Hi speed freaks !
Just found out a Stalin S-65 dozer does 6.95 Kmh ! ...
... if we can out-run the Ruskie retreat in this sucker ... we ROSIE !
( le ... tea ... South London speak Herb ... got it ? )
Wolfgang & Hans have been busy destroying priceless 1960's 'Tri-ang' collectors items.
That is, what wasn't already destroyed by my cousins & myself !
Having said that; these OO-scale Brit under-frames, are Brunnel STRONG !
Our top engineers have been slacking off a bit, since it's the weekend ( any darn excuse ! ) ...
... but they have made progress !
I'm not sure what the difference is between a 'detail' & a 'souper detail' ...
... but Wolfgang & Hans hacked most of 'em off last night.
( see 'junkque' in front of potentialy stunning new model ! )
Souper-detail freaks, please observe; Brit-brake-detail still present ... Mmm ...
... hacksaw ?
Jose ... Sorry ol' bean ... you are already on the Tri-ang collectors-club hit-list ...
... they don't understand that priceless '60s artifacts can be ecologicaly re-cycled into insane-speeders.
IDIOTS !
Si.

Hi Helmut
The photo Jose found is the inspiration for the model.
However, since my gauge needs to be 2-foot...
...our car-shop is making a new prototype.
Jose's photo looks like standard gauge to me...
...lots more width to play with.
We'll see what happens...
...it's always fun when you don't know what you're doing...
...I don't figure there are any blue-prints for the speeder in Jose's photo.
Cheers
Si.

@Si
Sorry, should have read this thread from the beginning
I remember, however, a photo taken in an abandoned US mine where they used an 'Indian' with the same sort of double-chain/gear reduction on a 2' truck to take the carts out. Somewhere in the deep net...

Just to show the "great amount of detailing" on the MRy's new "rail bike", here's how the power gets from the V twin drive to the railroad wheels.

The bike's chain drive to the rear wheel runs to a shaft which has a sprocket on it and the RR wheel has a corresponding sprocket driven with another Harley Davidson chain...or something like that. So, you see that this contraption could actually operate (in another world!).

Hi Helmut
That Indian 2' mine contraption sounds pretty interesting.
As well as the 2 Brit-underframes we just 'adapted'(destroyed !)...
...we had a look at our small railroad-truck & wheel collection as well...
...those underframes have spoked-wheels...
...def. in the 'cool speeder' ballpark.
Woodie has set the design kinda...
...I guess a 2ft contraption is always gonna have outside bearings/boxes...
...that's what I figured as well.
I love the teeny-weeny little mud-gaurds in Jose's proto-photo...
...FUNKY-JUNK !...
...as if driving that insane-mobile in the rain; you would be the slightest bit dry ?

Further update coming after the coffee is done !

Woodie, that new electron-microscope fitting for your camera is working a treat !
I guess that's a real 1:35 sized dudes view; in the Mogollon Railway car-shop.
They've cobbled together some funky-junk in their time...
...but this little speeder looks INSANE !
Luvin' it !
Cheers
Si.
