Sorry about the quality of some. Trying to take them in a hurry as im going down the line to ride the Texas Giant. The two steamers are from a sugar plantations in Lousiana. No pics of the green loco tho. A few of a plymouth there also. 36'' gauge I think.
Yep,those lokies were from LA sugar plantations, there was an "in depth" story about them in an old NG&SLG. When the park first opened (1961) we rode around and around for hours but that was before throngs of folks visited the park. I haven't been to Six Flags in many years, the $30 or so fee is probably better suited (for me) to buy tickets for the Texas State RR. The TSRR may be standard gauge but it is 26 miles long and steam/early Alco dizmals. Besides, there are lots fewer screaming babies and sullen teens in the piney woods of East Texas. If you noticed, the trucks under all the Six Flags cars appear to be D&RGW short arch bars.
