Woodrow , Si , fellers..

I am perverse..I eat ramen and beans all the time..
Sometimes I move on up to rice...and beans...
lemme tell ya about new technology..re fried beans in dried form...
mmmmmm mix em up in warter ..nuke they little arses..eggs or what have you..
soma that Rooster brand hot sauce..
yessir...

So..uum..for Herbie..yessir on topic yessir..
they hauled them beans in on the narrow gauge..yessir right away sir...

I tell ya..It might not be good for me to do the reviewin.....
The book has alot of pitchers..
the book mostly consists of the author / publisher telling whot is in the pitchers..
I have trouble following it..

Now that said..for the true wonky Gilpin fan...
the thing is a blow by blow, mile by mile account of the line..
staying the course with fotos in each section being the same areas from differing angles..
with maps of the area in question....
this is really good for trying to understand the area...and the line..

There are fotos which are in series of fotos I have seen before,
very interesting to see "the next" foto in series obviously taken just after the one I had seen before

Alot of construction fotos of the rock work along the bluff leading to and around castle rock.
All in series and that bit of construction is interesting and oft seen in the original Gilpin book..
albeit in one or two fotos only..

Hi Charley

If there's a decent drawing of the phase-1 ore-car...
...accidently point your camera or scanner at it...
...push the button by mistake...
...& E-mail the nice result to me.
It's a million years out of print right ?

- - - - - - -

As James Coburn (Pat Garrett) said in the movie...
...to Bob Dillon (Alias; alias what ?)

" You stay put; and read the labels on those air-tights up on the shelf there "

Bob :-

" Beans "
" Beans "
" Beans "

Si.

How large is a 'finescale bean' in 1:35 ?
I figure a reasonable portion bowl is about 6mm dia.

Si, Woodrow, fellers...

I don't know about them ore cars...
I haven't finished the book..

I think it is out of print..
BUT..I just bought my copy off ebay a week ago..after deciding I needed it..
did not buy it when it came out..?..
go figger..

I think there are plans galore of the Gilpin stuff..
whot surprises me is the surfeit {bunches}..of scenes showing the cabeese ..may be one, rebuilt twice..
and excursion cars re built and or used as calaboosetes..
AND..the gondola's...quite common in shots..

Now for years everybody and their brothers was wondering about Gilpin cars..
a great mystery..
now common as beans on our shelving..

Oh well...

...The Gilpin Tram could only dream of having a 2-4-4-2 with 'custom' tender.

Aparently they sold off their teeny Shays to some railway called Mogolywwon or something...
...Welsh by the sounds of it.

" Beans "
" Beans "
" Beans "

Spam & beans...
well, if you don't tell anybody, I will scan & post the GT ore car drawings from Farrell's book.
They's copyrighted but what's a lawsuit between friends?
We ain't gonna make any dinero from this anyway.
Stay tuned for them later.

" Beam me up Scotty...
...I don't want my Spam & beans to get cold ! "

- - - - - - -

At 14ft long (I think)...
...those ore-cars are cute !

I have a small collection of downloaded pics. of them...
...but not enough to figure out the inside bits.

There is a great pic on the Net...
...of 3 guys 'suited'; hanging out on, & in, one.
N i c e.

I guess the 2-4-4-2 would burn-up a car-full of coal that size in no time.
(or maybe just flatten a 1400mAh ^^ bat.!)

Cheers
