I was looking for photo of the cars used in mines and found this page with lots of pics of different types, though I'm not sure how accurate some of the "restorations" are

Tom-thanks for the link, miners everywhere should take a look or two. The photos of the mine cars inside the unsafe mines are kinda spooky, like looking at the Titanic. And a couple of the cars have rusticles on them! Some of the cars look to be modern fabrications, but the old wooden ones are way cool. I like the shot of the short miner with a "train" pulled by a "Colorado canary".
Great find.

That's a great link! I was really impressed with the photos inside the mine. In fact, as I was looking at it some of those pictures I was thinking a cutaway mountain side with the inside of a mine modeled would be pretty cool.

Way cool!!! and Bookmarked!!

Doubt that the company logo appeared on the equipment back in the day though.

Thanks!

There more of them on the other pages of that thread by the way, just thought that was the most interesting page with the ghost cars.

If you wondering what all that inspiration has produced so far it's this On30 car

I may do some more smaller cars later.

Tom

Tom-great model! You produce so much cool stuff that I could become quite poor in a few minutes. I know that you would appreciate the orders, but I am not ready to live under a bridge with my extensive train collection...yet! I love the mine car, I need to wipe the drool off the laptop now.

Great pics! Whoever shot those photos of the rotting cars in abandoned mines, is a lot braver than I am!
