Just re-read what you wrote on the Bachmann couplers.

Yes ... they ARE way too small.

They are MILES too low on the Shay & Porter I have ...
... no doubt ditto on the cars.
(I don't have any; only seen them in pix.)

Cheers

Si.

I have some HO & On3/30 Kadee's stashed somewhere ...
... perhaps I should have a look.

The 'O' 805 realy does seem the correct 'look' to me ...
... WSLCo's knuckle couplers, look BIG in photos ...
... perhaps 2ft a bit smaller; I haven't studied this.

I am not a nit-picker BTW ...
... but just need 'working specs' from the word "GO" ...
... then; forget about it; & get on with car building.

As a loose rule of thumb 3ft gauge used 3/4 sized couplers ( though some used the full sized version) 2ft gauge tended to use around half sized ones.

However the Kadee 5's are about 30% over scale size anyway, so they are not too far off a 3/4 sized one in O scale or a half sized one in 1:35.

But the trip pin is way too short if you want to mount them at the correct height and use magnetic uncoupling.

Tom
