Thats a great looking ore car, quite riveting.
The lettering style is similar to some of the informal lettering styles often seen the turn of the century, subtle, but nice. Seems like many modellers believe that everything old was lettered in old English.
Reminds me of the time three fonts from back east walked into a bar in Mogollon.
The bar tender says: Get out, we don't like your type around here.

Har dee har! I like the hand painted lettering also. Those 3 fonts must have visited the Goat-where everybody knows your game...
OK, Charley has a new thread we shall give him the "what for", etc. Since this is Christmas night and Sunday, I will be on the chat at 9PM central if any of ya'll want to jabber a bit. Hasta la vista...

Hi Charley,
Your tipper looks great.
glad to see that there is one more building in that scale on 16.5mm gauge.
My scale tends more to 1:22,5 with a 40cm prototype gauge, but border between Gn15, Hn18 ... are not really existing I think

Hi Charley,
Artist? No, must be someone else you have in mind. Pictures of my things you can find, a little bit collected, here
I'm building two narrow gauge lines, both situated on the fictional island of Toeffelholm, both in a scale of 1:22.5. 1/2" scale is 1:24, so nearby.
I have a "main line" with 750mm/30" prototype gauge ( 32mm model gauge) and a small industrial line with a more or less fictional prototype gauge of 400mm (ca. 16") modeled with 16.5mm track.
Stuff for an industrial railway with 400mm gauge was first introduced by Decauville but only for hand and horse operation.
I don't like the 15" Heywood things so much, nevertheless I call my things "Gn15".
My recent work is more concentrated on this smaller gauge.

I keep going back and looking at those rivets. They look so real that I'm going to ask you to do a step by step of how you did them.
The military model people have it all over us when it comes to realism IMO
