Just get some styrene and start cutting! Critters are the most fun of anything to build because of the variety. Most were built in back shops so anything goes
Check out my hello thread, the critter there was built from a bachmann and two different kits all smashed together.
Use your imagination it's fun!

A thought, there are some conversion kits out there to put a new cabin on a Shay or similar. Wondering if one of these could be used to convert an HO switcher.

Do any of you guys know if the Boulder Valley Models,
Dunkirk class A logging loco, would fit on the aforementioned chassis?. or is scratchbuilding the only
way to go? Lots of replies please, Thanks Tony C.:thumb:

It appears that a diesel chassis would be "bashable" into a class A Dunkirk or Climax, the large weight inside the shell might negate any "interior detai", the diesel truck sideframes MUST be changed to a more appropriate type. I believe the BVM kits have sideframes that replicate the real ones. If you go the scratch route on a chassis, why use a kit for the superstructure? I believe that a pair of Black Beetle trucks or maybe NWSL underfloor (still available?) power trucks could be used and a nice open-type superstructure could be built fairly easily. Is this an OK reply?
