Hello everyone

As Woodie says 'I love the stories', so here is mine...

This is a brief outline of The Great Pandemonian Railway, a 3ft gauge way  in Great Pandemonia, a country in The Heights of Absurdity, lost to sight of the world's ordinary madmen. Modeled in 5.5mm scale, running on 16.5mm code 100 rail.

Pandemonia does not have any form of government except that of Common Sense and Respect.  Heoonose is our Final Arbiter should there be any matter that cannot be settled between Pandemonians.  Periodically, Heoonose visits a district and a Statue of Heoonose erected to show that he is available to dispense advice and guidance if needed.

There are no cars in Pandemonia, only an old Hispano Suize H6B abandoned by a lost 'tourist' from beyond the 'veil'.  The vehicle is tolerated and left to be admired for it's interesting rust patterns (To be weathered at a future date).

Three locos are nearly finished,  No1, 'Grace'; scratchbuilt body and chassis in N/S;  No2, 'R Noel' in plastic on a Mantua 0-6-0 switcher chassis; No3, 'R Les' body in N/S on a Mantua 2-6-2 and tender.  Please have a look at pics in the Gallery under R, rich5.5mmUK folder.

I feel perhaps I should explain how the loco names were arrived at; in most parts of England, depending on local dialect, the possessive 'our' is shortened to the 'R' sound.  So the names 'R Les' and 'R Noel' refer to my very good friends Les(lie) Nowell, and fellow modeller Noel Adams, another 5.5mm man.  I know Harold Minky is a great advocate of 5.5mm, and is a member of our UK '5.5mm Association Yahoo Group'  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/55NG/ Please have a look at the site and meet some great modellers

I hope this has amused and entertained fellow modelers across the world - I'm afraid there's more to come!  I shall be pleased to hear from anyone out there and get to know you.

Regards to all

Rich Alvey

Rich-that's excellent work. I love to see things made from brass. Looks like you will have a nice stable of locomotives. Show us some more if you please.

Sad to say, I couldn't see any photos-'only for members' and I belong to way too many now.
I did like Harold's work when he posted his 55 stuff.

Hi Dave
Sorry you couldn't see the pics, I didn't realise that.
Harold is something of a mirage isn't he, a sort of 'Brigadoon'...
