The reefer yellow isn't the same color as the passenger gold --that's a whole different can of worms!

The colors are Floquil reefer yellow (spray can) and the other is RustOleum Rusty Brown Primer (spray from Home Depot). There was some touch up on the yellow done with Accu-Flex reefer yellow. The kit is painted inside and out as reccomended in the instructions. The reason for this is that there are areas the you can possibly see the edge or back side. Like the roof edges, corners and under sides of the sides.

Thank you.  I'll have to do some research into the colors for the early 50's box cars.  You did a good job:2t:.

I'm not sure when the D&RGW painted two (?) 3000-series box cars orange to match the Silverton trains. I haven't seen any in films before maybe 1960. Here's a photo of 3134 relettered for the D&S, but taken not long after their takeover of the Silverton line:

This is a scan from a print, and I tweaked the colors, plus as you can see, it was taken in bad weather, but this should give the general idea. I've heard some guys use Daylight Orange with some yellow added to get this general shade.

Doing a bit of research I learned that one singular box car #3219 was painted to match the gold passenger cars.  This box car was used for a luggage car for the rail fan passengers starting in the 60's
