On a recent trip up to the mountains before the weather got bad. We stop in the little Colorado Mining town of Idaho Springs. AndI took these shots of what this little 1800 Mining town looks like now.

Enjoy !!!

Speaking of what it looks like now, Idaho Springs is one of the few places I know where century old mining equipment sits so close to modern establishments. It's really a bit odd. Here's an example of what I mean [image below]. Notice the Safeway (it's a grocery store for those who don't have them locally) behind the battery loco and car. The grocery store is literally across the street from a huge hill-side mine and mill.

Though, admittedly, whenever I think "Idaho Springs" I usually also think "Tommy Knockers" (which despite the name "brewery and pub" is quite family friendly).
