In the 10th installment of "Narrow Gauge On A Budget" I wanted to show pictures I had taken of one of the coolest little Mining Micro layout ever built. By Narrow Gauge Gazette Author "Lane Stewart", But now it's own by the owner of Caboose Hobbies. If your building a little Mining Micro layout this little layout have a lot great tips to get started from and it's loaded with a lot of little detail scene.
The little layout is only 2ft x 3ft with a foam & Popsicle stick base, With some of the tightest radius turns I had ever seen. !!! You can run "5" little locos on it at one time, And it's packed with a lot of rundown south of the border individuals.
A must see if your ever in Denver. !!!

I always make a point of seeing this one (and the On30 layout over by scenery supplies) whenever I stop by. It was a trip or two ago that I realized the wood around the base was popsicle sticks. The micro layout reminds me a lot of the modeling of Malcolm Furlow with it's vertical scenery and western building. Last time I saw it there weren't any engines on the track as you have pictured.
Ronnie-it is indeed a cool little layout. I have read Mr. Stewart's articles for years...in fact, his stuff would probably be the only reason I would read the Gazette any more anyway. Thanks for the photos, it would be a great reason to visit Caboose Hobbies by itself!

I'm there with you. !!! I always make it a point to stop and marvel at this great piece of artwork when I'm in there. And several years ago I asked some of the guys who work there what happen to all the locos that once use to be on this layout. (NOBODY KNOWS.) !!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I think they may have found a new home on somebody else layout. And with all the On30 stuff in that store, Nobody can ever get anything to run on it.
And yes the swampy layout in the back is my second favorite too.!!!
Hey !!! if you ever see a "Handsome looking black guy taking pictures of layouts and reading all the narrow gauge magazines in the back at Caboose Hobbies." That's me !!!
I agree !!!! Lane articles was one of the big reasons I was getting the Gazette. And I read every article on how he put this layout together. At one time before he disappeared off the face of the earth. !!! He was submitting plans in the Gazette on huge home layout that he was building that was suppose to incorporate this layout with it. And then he disappeared from the Gazette and nothing else was ever said about it.
