Hopefully someone down under will answer up cause I have only heard of one of your products. One product is EnviroTex resin. Check out some of the back forum subjects. There are a few on water or check some of the soft cover publications. You could also find more than you want on the web. You know the phrase "Google it". Sometimes it is just trial and error on a small sample board. Good Luck!

Are you wanting to model a small stream or a river? I have used Envirotex, clear casting resin, Woodland Scenics water (don't care for that one), clear gloss medium, and my favorite-for streams or shallow rivers-slow set 2 part clear epoxy. Each has it's own "niche" and once again, for every 50 modelers asked, there will be 57 different choices.

Ronnie D. do you get the wave effect by teasing the surface with a barbie skewer as the silicone sets up or can you add wave effects after the silicone dries? Also would a latex based clear caulk be able to more likely support post setup effects via application of Liquitex gel medium to build up larger waves ( if applied in thin thin layers)?

p.s. I ask because I have a piece of ocean harbour I need to add to a layout. I had been toying with the idea of using a sheet of plexiglass as the base and adding clear latex caulk in thin layers to build up waves possibly tinting the layers to achieve the transluscent effect seen with larger waves? Will the silicone based caulk take tinting with any sort of paint? I like the water effect you have achieved on your layout. Geoff Nott ( not certain about the name spelling) from Oz via his MR article on waterfalls is the person who first lead me to consider using caulk for water.

Color the underside of the plexiglass!
Color has "depth" that way

Tried it Herb using a Delta ceramacoat product. Learned the hard way that very thin coats ( as per usual) are best for the transluscent water efect. Also tried very dilute acrylics which to my surprise worked on the plexiglass.

Will,
I tease the caulk with a putty knife while it's wet. !!! Once dried I'll go over the wave caps by dry brushing them with white acrylic paint. I've tried to do water scene's with plexiglass in the pass and didn't like the effect even if you painted it.
Good Luck !!!
