I scratch-built this little 0n30 Dunkirk logging train from an old photo I saw in the Narrow Gauge & Shortline Gazette a couple of years ago. And haven't been able to find much info on these funky little logging locos. The one I built reminds me of Don's Free Rails little Loco.
Do anyone know where I can find more info on these "Backwoods Locos"
Don's little Critter.

That little steam critter was actually built very nicely from an article I did in Railroad Model Craftsman many years ago. I published plans in one of my Sketchbooks also. It is a freelance design based on prototype practice and my model was built in 1/24 scale to operate on Gn15 track. I made resin castings for much of the frame and the boiler and water tank are cast plaster. Aluminum sheet was used for the metal panels. These were "rusted" in Etchant before assembly. Jim Favre built the original model design with a horizontal boiler, and with his permission, I modified his into the vertical boiler one.
I have one of these beauties that is surplus to my plans. If anyone is interested in a relocation, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
