:bang:  After completing an Oscale D&RGW water  tank I'm going to share a tip that got me out of a significant screwup. I did read through the instructions and noted that they said don't jump ahead. Guess what I did? There was definatly a good reason for the tip. You can't complete the tank if you do. The problem was that there was a need to glue a framework to the underside of the roof for one thing. It had to be square and was quite fragile. The answer was to  use what is called a mini-grabber. These are test lead clips that are used in circuit board testing. The are very small and come in several sizes and shapes.

Here is a few.

This one is by far the strongest but is surprisingly gentle on clamping.

This is a larger one and you can see the hook to clamp with when you open it. The mini-grabber is spring loaded.

Another style.

Another showing the clamp extended. All worked well and leave no marks on the finished surfaces. Hope this is of use to someone. The moral of the story is when all else fails pay attention to the instructions.

P.S. Don't be offended by by my favorite quote after the signature.

My bad. You can get them from Radio Shack or used electronic supply shops. Out here in the edge of the Colorado mountains we have a place called J.B.Suanders, on the net also. The sell a lot of items for those in the computor areas, electronics and the like. They are called mini-grabbers, test hookups for circuit boards. They are about $3.25 for two at Radio Shack and mine through Saunders were 50 cents each fo used ones. All different sizes.

Two pics from the net.

Don't know for sure cause there is some or was some other goofy stuff going on. Seems like everyday someones site goes bely up for some reason or another. I think those were the ones copied from the "Radio Shack" web site.

Sometimes if you delete pictures from your computer they also get deleted from wherever you have posted them. I've noticed a lot of red X pictures that won't open on this site and when I asked about it, it was pointed out to me that deleting was the probable cause. Maybe that's what happened here.  PeteM
