I HAVE SEEN SOME GRASS ON OTHER PAGES AND IT LOOKS GOOD.

Speak with some of your friends who model, and see if one would be of interest to them as well and perhaps you could split the cost with them.

Check out the link below. This is the Grassinator and can be built from parts. I believe some of the parts may have to be substituted now but this will at least give you the idea.
Also, I know there are instructions for building a slightly different model on one of Joe Fugate's DVDs. I think this may be available from his site, too.

I am not overly impressed with the home made jobbies. I have a Noch unit which works well but is too large for detailed work.
A new much better unit is now supplied by Greenscenes although their new website does not yet list it. The cost is £70

Noch now offers a cone end for the Grassmaster which can be purchased separately.
Now it can be used with more precision than before.
Here is a link through Scenic Express.

Thanks John,
I can only comment on the fly-swat and say I found it worked really well .............
but I was only using it on very small diorama type bases not the large areas you have done on your site ( which look really good) ....
I have not used or even seen in real life work produced by the "proper version"
