After my 5 buck RC critter turned out so well, I decided it was time for second one.

Those cheapo RC cars come in 27 MHz and 49 MHz so you can run two cars at the same time. BUT… since I’m only using one channel of a two channel transmitter/receiver. I figured I could get another 27 MHz car and use the steering channel to run the second train. That way I’d only have one transmitter. I chopped up another Hummer and gave it a try. Works like a charm.
It still needs a little work on the body.

Folie à deux (literally, "a madness shared by two") is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis is transmitted from one individual to another. The same syndrome shared by more than two people may be called folie à trois, folie à quatre, folie à famille or even folie à plusieurs (madness of many).
Folie imposée is where a dominant person (known as the 'primary', 'inducer' or 'principal') initially forms a delusional belief during a psychotic episode and imposes it on another person or persons (known as the 'secondary', 'acceptor' or 'associate') with the assumption that the secondary person might not have become deluded if left to their own devices.
It’s true – look it up.
I guess Woodie is the “Inducer” and I’m the “Associate” but there is plenty of room for the rest of you.

Bob-OUTTASIGHT! Just wonderful. Great work. Imagination in extremis. By golly, you done it. I love to see what you are doing and really soon, I hope you will bring these critters over for some fun. Mopman dropped by and we have probably 2/3 of the layout back up in a different location. I still need to do some 'justin' and hook the rails together, but there is enough up now to switch 4 mines and when I get some more tripods, the entire line will be up & running. The plan to use tripods is working out fine and I will post some pix on the Mogollon Railway thread when I get the camera fired up.
Bob, thanks for "carrying the ball" and showing what can be done by ANYBODY. Now, there is no reason for lousy operations and I really appreciate what you have been doing....keep on going. I saw some cheap r/c cars at Radio Shack the other day and from a non-close look, it appears thet they do have proportional speed and steering. I will investigate further. As for super small motors-at the shop, we got some can motors in that go to tiny helicopters and the things are about the size of a grain of wheat light bulb! Imagine a r/c O scale handcar that works!

That's a really good idea, using both of the sticks for control. I wouldnt of thought steering would work but when you think about it it makes sense.

| Both channels put out about 2.8 volts so they both work the same.

Bob- that's a great job!
I think that what gave Boudreaux an extra dose of Viagra was the fact that the RX has sticks!! Way to go!! Attaboy!!!

Viagra on steroids! I just want ya'll to know that the layout is up and will stay that way for the forseeable and unforseeable future. I figure that it will be better off in the cold all set up with a train running than sitting in pieces with no train running. Therefore, any and all who want to visit, just give me a call...here for all to see...214-660-7146... Now, Trebor needs to bring his critters by. I will build an "idler car" so those with KD couplers can run with my motley assortment of rolling stock and punky lokies. My thanks to Mudge for letting me have the "right of way" in his back yard. YAHOO! And I don't mean the internet yahoo...
