On the CVR layout I am still laying track and wiring :( two of my most unfavourite tasks.

You and Me both buddy.......:bang:        I find Slot track WAY easier to lay :moose:

Speaking of Diorama's, I had started a little diorama last year (its in here somewhere) and today, It had to go...I needed the room.............I did salvage my stumps and some Talus along with a few rock castings that may get used one day..........It was going to have to go eventually, It was simply to large for my fture needs........Gave me 30" of shelf space that I was desperate for:thumb:

Well, I must be a picky son of a gun or something... I have been looking at that portal for a couple of days and not liking it. SO!

Tonight I ripped it out and started again.

What do you guys think of this one? Be honest now.

Here is a closer look.

Worked on the other side of the town tonight.

Just starting the portal near where Tsawwati Station will be.

And look there is Tommy and Duke about to explore the cave (Duke is the one on the left).

I like it Will!

I really like the use of the wooden header.

I would like to see it stained a little darker but thats about it.:thumb:

Thanks Dave, the wooden header is stained with MinWax - Ebony 2718.

At Rich's suggestion I dipped and wiped.

Oh, I didn't stain the stones. They are the blocks from David Bateman. http://www.modelrailstructures.com/buildingblocks.html

They are great to work with, easily cut with my Chopper II. I lied them down, perfect for N Scale. I showed them to another modeller today and he thought if you stood them up it would be perfect size for HO.

The blocks I used for the retaining wall around the cave are darker than the other wall.

Those walls/portals look great, Will! :thumb:

I’m wanting to do something similar to that with my waterfront scene…
