OK Si, now what? One thing I found using one combination of MP3 player and small amp ![]() d (1) by slateworks, on Flickr was that the dimmer switch for the room lighting caused some minor speaker distortion. The lower the lighting, i.e. the harder the dimmer was working, the more buzz I got from the speakers. I must admit to using unscreened ordinary layout wire for the speaker connection and maybe screened wire would ease the problem but at the moment the distortion is not noticeable enough to justify a re-wire. Interestingly, the other set up which uses the same MP3 player and ex-computer speakers which have their own built-in amp doesn't suffer at all. I'll be interested to hear what you discover.
