The Buddleia - the butterfly bush is an invasive species that will grow just about anywhere. The really like to grow in the ballast, especially behind the track ends where they won't be distrubed.

These examples are individual leaves and flower spikes on a wire armature.






They are drought tolerant and people like them as they attract butterflies to their abundant flowers.
