Hi all,
now its time for Dan's On30 "Diggers Bend" to make an appearance. I think that this counts as a "small layout", but the details speak for themselves.....

An overview of the left hand side of the layout

and a closer view of the Diggers Bend Mining Company's main buildings

as an empty train scuttles aross the yard and heads back to the mine

into the underground darkness. The Company ute (utility truck) looks like it has seen better days.

A view over the creek towards the lean-to

Near the lean-to, a skip gets some attention

Meanwhile over at the loco shed,

the shed fitter is looking for something he dropped earlier in the day

Here's a close up of the mine portal that hides behind the loco shed roof - is it safe to go inside???

And now for some of the gum trees that populate this layout...

and finally a closer look that also shows a nicely detailed misty backscene lurking behind the trees that helps give additional depth to the eucalypt forest

This layout is sure to feature in a magazine or 2 over the coming few months. Keep your eyes out in the "arriving in the next issue" notices, for when it does the printed photos will be absolutely stunning. My hand-held photos simply do not do this layout full justice.

Next up we go down a size to HOn2 1/2 with photos of Ron Wrigglesworth's "Wombat Creek Carriage & Locomotive Works" and Rod Hutchinson's HOn30"Regnan's Tramway"....
