From what I understand, this is a "used" kit and came without motor/gearbox-right? Grandt made the kits long ago and the parts are probably hard to find now. The driver may be out of the question since the dies may not be available and just for one set of driver centers...well, you know. Since you want to build an outside frame loco, how about contacting BACHMANN about possibly buying OF drivers that go to their On30 Forney or maybe the OF 4-4-0. Just a thought. Motor & gears? I might get a Grandt 2:1 crossbox coupled to a gearhead motor like MICRO LOCO MOTION has. That would be similar to the original parts. You want to shorten the frame? Man, you are a glutton for punishment and may regret messing with the frame for a mere 6" (1/8"). But it's your project. Good luck and keep us posted.

Woodie
