Even seems too fine for one of those continuous mining machines, which would be doubtful because of all the cheap labor around. So they are either crushing it in the mine, before it gets loaded into the cars, or they are dropping the face with dynamite (shatters) rather than blasting powder (heaves large chunks). Either way- extra dusty down there!


Maybe digging out by hand with pickaxe. Thus the small crushed look.  Since all other operations (switching, dumping carts, ect) are done manually.  Maybe?
