Hi Gerold

Just goes to show what you can dig up on Freerails when you have a nose around !  ;)

That sounds like a great birthday present from your Dad of the magazine subscription.  :bg:
Even more exciting 'back in the day' before The Net made such a huge wealth of stuff available to railfans & modellers.  :old dude:

I think I must have got my copy of 'Pino Grande' around 1988 ...

... when I was a Member of 'The Slim Gauge Circle' in the UK ...

... having seen another Members copy at a meet.  :java:

I don't think I got much sleep that night, after returning from 'Motor Books' near Charing Cross station !  :y:

It's great to hear that the article in Model Railroader went down well & is remembered to this day !  :thumb:

I guess 'the cable' was somewhat unique, certainly an awesome sight & very  C   L  to model.

Sadly though, we can't Post the scan you made from the original magazine, as it is the Copyright of Model Railroader.  :f:

I would love to see the scan you made of the article though Gerold, could you eMail me the file ?  L:

Some pix. again of Bobs excellent model ... have a look back << in the Thread for descriptions & more goodies !  :P

AWESOME ! model again Bob !  :thumb:
